Understanding and Working with Strong-willed and Explosive Students

The classroom landscape has changed dramatically over past years. Teachers at all levels report an increase in oppositional behavior, abusive language, general disrespect, anger, rage and acts of violence within the student population of their schools.

Students who are easily frustrated, demonstrate an inability to be flexible and who act before they think are the most vulnerable. These students are often ineffective learners, show signs of depression and are at serious risk of being unhappy and abusive to self and others throughout their lives.

Schools can make a difference! However, parents have a vital role to play as well. Close home-school collaboration is critical.

This workshop will aid teachers and administrators in recognizing, understanding and helping strong-willed and explosive students and working successfully with parents.

Society will pay a heavy price in the future should we fail to do all we can to help these children now.
