Motivation and Learning - Using What We Now Know

"Kids lack motivation." "They just don't seem interested in learning." "If the work doesn't come easy to them many of my students just give up!" Sound all too familiar?

Learn ways to unlock students' intrinsic motivation for learning, success and happiness. Workshop participants will examine different views of what motivates people to learn, from three perspectives.

Topics:

the philosophical approach

the psychological approach

the biological approach

You will have an opportunity to explore underlying assumptions and beliefs about extrinsic and intrinsic motivation and identify conditions which are essential to effective teaching and effective learning.

This workshop will help teachers and administrators avoid classic De-Motivators in the classroom and school building and offers strategies that will enhance the likelihood of students' intrinsic motivation.
